Digital
media agency Interactive Avenues has been recognised as an Official
Honoree at the 12th Annual Webbys, the creative awards for Internet
advertising. The agency was chosen for www.weknowyou.co.in, the website
it created for Sri Lankan Airlines.
The
interactive website gives visitors an option of three cities to travel
to in India – Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. On answering a few questions
about food and shopping habits, they are presented with a map of both
the departure and destination cities. The maps show eating places,
shopping outlets and tourist destinations, and highlight accommodation
ranging from budget to luxury.
“We are thrilled to receive the
award. Interactive Avenues has always believed in the quality and
exclusivity of the content we create. The awards have come as a result
of the fact that all of us at Interactive Avenues have been working
consistently to raise the bar,” Amardeep Singh, vice-president,
Interactive Avenues, said in a statement.
This year, the
Webbys received about 10,000 entries from more than 60 countries, and
all the states in the US. About 15 per cent of these entries have been
named Official Honorees.
The Webby Awards are called the
Oscars of the Internet and recognise creative excellence in websites,
Internet advertising, online film and video and mobile websites. The
awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts &
Sciences.
