Titled ‘We Know You’, the piece of work was created
for Sri Lanka Airlines to carry forward its promise of “We know you”
online. The application was created on the insight that while India has
a richly diverse culture – all proudly individualistic – all Indians
have things in common that them citizens of one motherland. One such
undisputed commonality is that no matter where they go, Indians want to
eat food from their hometown. The application created asked users what
their food preference was. On answering, they were shown their
favourite eateries in their own city. Going one step further, the
application then showed them the places they could visit in their
destination city, ensuring they never have to do without their
favourite vittles.
The 12th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000
entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states. Out of more these,
fewer than 15 per cent received this honour and were deemed ‘Official
Honorees’.
